The annual Remembrance Day Service, organised by The Royal Signals Association Loughborough and District Branch and The Royal British Legion will take place at St Marys-in-the-Elms Church, Woodhouse, Leicestershire on Sunday 13th November 2016, commencing at 1045 hours. There should be uniformed presence from members of DISC Chicksands (around 12 personnel) and the Defence Sixth Form College Welbeck (normally around 6). The service will be conducted by Dawn Daly, a new Lay Minister. During the service a collection will be taken for The Royal British Legion. It is hopeful that a Legion and a Royal Corps of Signals standard will be present. After the service there will be a short parade at the village memorial to which wreaths will be laid..

Personnel attending are advised to arrive by 1030 hours latest, as the church is always very well attended on this occasion. Parking is across from the church in the village hall. Please DO NOT PARK outside the church entrance, as this is reserved for disabled members.

After the service tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided in the village hall. A donation box will be placed by the door and members attending are requested to donate money towards the cost of these refreshments, the hire of the hall and the service from the Ladies of Woodhouse. My sincere thanks in advance.

I will not be organising Sunday Lunch this year. Should personnel wish to dine after the service, then there are plenty of local pubs to choose from. However, I do suggest you book early as Sunday Lunch on Remembrance Sunday is always busy.

To enable me to estimate numbers for the church, I would be most grateful if you could let the Chairman know if you will be attending so he can pass the numbers onto me, send an e-mail to the Chairman now by clicking on the envelope:
