Your Branch’s fundraising champion, WO1 Gill Bennett RNR, has started the 2019 running season in fine style by raising £84.00 in the Lincoln 10km on 8 April. By the way, that is £84.00 in small denomination coins of the realm which she accumulated in her famous and trusty bucket and carried all the way to the finishing line.
I was not able to be there to support her this year and I was also a bit slow off the mark in publishing her efforts, so I hope both she and you, the Branch members, will forgive me.
If you would have liked to sponsor Gill’s efforts, but were not aware of her
plans, then don’t despair. Gill will be running again on Sunday 5 May in Kings Lynn and once again in York later in the year. Probably the easiest way to support her is by cheque – no matter how large or small, payable to Y Services (Garats Hay) Branch RBL and sent to me, the Poppy Appeal
Coordinator. Please email me at dennis.weir1@ntlworld.com or message me on Face Book and I will give you my postal address.
Come on folks – Gill is doing the hard part. All you need to do is write a
cheque.
Warm regards.
Dennis
