All who served in or continue to serve in the Y Service Organisation or its modern day equivalent units; regardless of single service or civilian affiliation, and who are not currently amongst our 400 plus Members, are strongly encouraged to join the Y Services (Garats HaY Branch of the Royal British Legion. This Branch was specifically formed for everyone in our community, no matter where, when or how long they served. Family members are also most welcome to join.
The aims of the Branch reflect the aims and ethos of the Royal British Legion; namely
- to ensure the welfare of the serving and ex-service military community
- to engage in and support fund-raising activities in respect of the Poppy Appeal
- to increase RBL Membership
- to maintain the bonds of comradeship across the Y Services community
The current cost of membership of the Y Services (Garats Hay) Branch is £21.00 per annum, rising to £22.00 with effect from October 2016. Membership of the Royal British Legion is of course open to any individual who wishes to support the Legion’s aims and ethos, as stated above. However, prospective members who have no Y Services background may wish to consider joining their local branch or perhaps St James’ Branch which is a national branch with no specific service or geographical affiliations.
